Review: Raised by Wolves

Title: Raised by Wolves
Author: Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Published: June 8, 2012
Rating: 4 out 5

Goodreads synopsis: Adopted by the Alpha of a werewolf pack after a rogue wolf brutally killed her parents right before her eyes, fifteen-year-old Bryn knows only pack life, and the rigid social hierarchy that controls it.  That doesn't mean that she's averse to breaking a rule or two.
But when her curiosity gets the better of her and she discovers Chase, a new teen locked in a cage in her guardian's basement, and witnesses him turn into a wolf before her eyes, the horrific memories of her parents' murders return. Bryn becomes obsessed with getting her questions answered, and Chase is the only one who can provide the information she needs.
But in her drive to find the truth, will Bryn push too far beyond the constraints of the pack, forcing her to leave behind her friends, her family, and the identity that she's shaped?

Fate's thoughts: this book may have been a typical werewolf story, but i still loved it.

The Romance.....was a bit of a case of insta love. i was surprised at what happened. it kinda got thrown in my face, i was like Whaa? However i did think Chase and Bryn where adorable together. But in the end i didn't really swoon.

The main character Bryn was the most kick-ass heroine ever. SHE WAS NOT, I REPEAT WAS NOT a damsel in distress. you'd think she'd stand back because she was a human in the middle of wolves, but no she stood and fought her way to being a BEEP! sorry i was about to spoil it for you, but i caught myself.

Anyway. The twist with her was pretty creative but a little predictable. also i kinda guessed what was going to happen but i still kinda liked it.

The secondary characters were great. i loved Lake she was Kick-ass and awesome. Devon was really adorable in a brotherly way. His impressions were so funny and really gave him character. Callum, Callum, callum. at times Callum was sweet and loving and at times he was cold, hard and enforcing, but i could understand why. I understood why he did the things he did. I was kinda happy about what happened between him and Bryn at the end.

I loved the ending. A small part of it i could predict, but the rest of it left me wanting more. In the end, even though it's not completely original i still think it's a great werewolf story and i will definitely be reading the next book.
